Buff City Soap, based in the Mid-South, makes their own all-natural soap. The company even has a "soap bakery" in Bartlett; it's one bakery that won't derail your diet.
Like most start-ups, Brad Kellum and Jennifer Ziemianin's story starts in a garage. The duo simply wanted chemical-free soap after learning about the chemicals often found in commercial soap. Another ingredient they weren't happy with: tallow or cow fat.
Soon they were sharing their own homemade, chemical-free, plant-based soaps and next came a storefront in 2013. Then they were known as The Bartlett Soap Company.
“Over a three-year period The Bartlett Soap Company grew from Brad and I driving around town delivering soaps, to two storefront locations and 13 employees who are extremely vital to what we do every day.” co-founder Jennifer Ziemianin said.
Recently, the company changed names to Buff City Soap, paying homage to Kellum and Ziemianin's Bluff City roots and showing the company's sense of humor.
Humor that you can see in their Bartlett and Olive Branch stores with slogans reading, "100% Awwww Naturel Ingredients" and "Good, Clean Fun."
All of the products at Buff City Soap can also be customized based on the scent or non-scent of your choice, color preference, and allergy needs. According to Ziemianin, “not only do all-natural products feel better on your skin, but they also help treat skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and keratosis pilaris.”
