CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) -- Chesapeake police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who stole a car to drive to a convenience store, where surveillance showed him walking out with three bars of soap.
Police say it happened on Friday, February 16. The suspect stole the vehicle from the 2000 block of Old Greenbrier Road. A short time later, he went into a convenience store in the 800 block of Canal Drive, where he was caught on video swiping the soap. He then fled in the stolen car.
Police say the stolen car was eventually recovered in Portsmouth.
