The cost of the class, which is for ages 13 and up, is $55 for members and $60 for non-members. It will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Enrollment deadline is Wednesday, Jan. 31.
Janice Brahms-Butler is the former president and executive director of LinkAbility, a non-profit organization located in Durham. She created programming for students and senior citizens in the community, focused on recycling, reusing and reducing.
While she has service at her core, Brahms-Butler is also an artist. She has taught art at CC Spaulding Elementary School for one year; the school did not have funding for supplies, so she created a Recycled Supplies Art Program. This year she moved to Asheboro. She and her husband wanted to focus on homesteading and their arts.
Brahms-Butler works in many mediums, including glass fusion, mosaics, jewelry, fiber art, painting, recycling and crating all the way, every day. She has had art juried by the Nasher Museum in Durham.
She lives on the homestead with her husband Nate and their two labradoodles.
To register, come by the Randolph Arts Guild, 123 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, or call the program director at 336-629-0399, ext. 22. For more information about this class or others, visit http://ift.tt/1EoLK6R or Facebook.
