Man orders cellphone on Flipkart, gets soap instead - The Tribune

A city resident has become the latest victim of online fraud. Having ordered a cell phone worth Rs 28,000 from an e-shopping website, Flipkart, Sector 7 resident Kulwant Singh was shocked to receive a toilet soap inside the box today.

Kulwant (31) had ordered a Samsung Galaxy S7 phone on September 24 and paid Rs 28,490 via debit card. He received the order around 4:30 pm. When he opened the box, he found the soap bar inside it.

Kulwant, a government employee, said: “It was my first shopping experience with Flipkart and I have initiated a return after filing a complaint.” Kulwant said he had purchased a lot of stuff online, but it was the first time he had such an experience. An income tax assistant, Kulwant is planning to take legal action as of now, but may consider it if he faces any problem from the e-commerce website for a refund.
