WESTPORT — A man who allegedly tried to steal $123 of Dove soap from the Super Stop and Shop on Post Road East in November was arrested last week in Stratford.
When the suspect was confronted outside the Westport grocery store on Nov. 14 he dropped the soap on the ground and drove away, Lt. David Farrell said. A guard recorded the license plate, which was also captured by security cameras and traced to Kristopher Flint, 45 of Stratford, Farrell said.
A records check found that Westport police had arrested Flint for a similar crime in Dec. 2015, and the booking photo in that case matched the security camera footage, the police spokesman said.
Stratford police turned the suspect over to Westport officers, and Flint was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released after posting a $5,000 bond.
