Patricia Barry, soap opera star dead at 93 - UPI.com

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Veteran actress and soap opera star Patricia Barry star has died at the age of 93.

Barry is said to have died peacefully inside her home Tuesday in Los Angeles according to her publicist. An exact cause of death has not been revealed.

Having made hundreds of appearances across television, film and theater, Barry is best known for her time spent on various daytime soap operas including Days of Our Lives as Bill Hayes' wife Addie Horton Williams, as drug lord Peg English on All My Children, as Southern belle Miss Sally Gleason on Guiding Light and as matriarch Isabelle Alden on Loving.

Barry's other notable television credits include roles on Rawhide, Gunsmoke, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Route 66, Dallas, Perry Mason among others.

Barry was also one of the earliest members and former president of Women in Film, a nonprofit that promoted equal opportunities for women in the industry.

She is survived by her two daughters, Miranda Barry and Stephanie Barry along with two granchildern. Her husband, producer Philip Barry died in 1998.
