John Stamos Developing TV Series About '80s Soap Operas - Entertainment Tonight

John Stamos is producing a brand a new television series centered around the dramatic world of daytime soap operas in the '80s.

The Fuller House actor has partnered with producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron to develop the new project, which will be loosely based on Stamos' early days on General Hospital, when he was just 18 years old.

The drama will be told through the eyes of a young man thrust into sudden stardom, as he deals with the temptations of sex, drugs, and fame in Hollywood.

Viewers will also get a glimpse of the colorful and often dark world of soaps, along with the greed, indulgence, excess, and materialism that went on behind the scenes. Stamos will executive produce the unnamed drama, currently in the early stages of development.

The 53-year-old actor played Blackie Parrish on General Hospital before landing his coveted role as Uncle Jessie on Full House in 1987. More recently, the actor wrapped production on Season 2 of Fuller House and has been promoting his forthcoming role as Dr. Brock Holt on FOX's Scream Queens.
