John Stamos is revisiting his soap opera days!

The Fuller House star, whose career as a successful TV actor began in 1982 when he scored the role as Blackie Parrish on ABC's longtime soap drama General Hospital, is teaming with producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron for a new cable series, according to Deadline.

Currently in early development, the new project is inspired by Stamos' career path and will focus on both the fame and success of daytime soap operas in the 1980s.

The new cable drama series, which is described as "Boogie Nights in the soap world," will follow a young soap actor's journey in dealing with fame, fortune and temptations while balancing family life.

According to Deadline, Stamos, 53, will executive produce the project with both Zadan and Meron through Storyline Entertainment. The project is currently in the process of finding a writer and has Storyline's Mark Nicholson signed on to produce.

This isn't the first time the trio has partnered on a project; in 2000, they joined forces as producers on the Emmy-nominated mini-series Beach Boys: An American Family.

In addition to his starring role on Netflix's Fuller House, Stamos will star on season 2 of Scream Queens as Dr. Brock Holt, set to return Sept. 20 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
