A Mexican telenovela star was tossed in jail for smashing a birthday cake over her boyfriend’s head because he came home drunk, according to a report Friday.
Karina Mora, 36 — who has appeared in several steamy Spanish soap operas — had been planning a surprise for her sweetheart, Robert Brown, at their home near Tampa, according to The Smoking Gun.
She bought him a cake that proclaimed “Happy Birthday, Love” and featured a yellow beer mug drawn in frosting, according to the website.
But when her sweetheart came home from a night of partying at around 1 a.m. Thursday, Mora flew into a fit of rage, according to the website.
She allegedly slammed the tasty cake over his noggin while he was trying to sleep, according to the complaint, which cites a criminal complaint.
The actress was charged with domestic battery and tossed in county jail. Brown, 56, suffered no serious injuries.
Mora has appeared in telenovelas such as “Pecadora” and “¿Dónde Está Elisa?” along with the film “Between Sheets.” She is currently working on a project for the Spanish TV station Telemundo, according to her website.In 1999, she was also named Miss Mexico International.
Before the surprise went sour, Mora posted an image of the soon-to-be smashed cake on Instagram.
