LUCY Fallon, Gemma Merna and Jennifer Metcalfe led the glamour as they attended the Inside Soap Awards tonight.

The nation's favourite soap stars were out in force for the bash, held at The Hippodrome in London, to support their shows and co-stars.

Corrie actress Lucy was not only a winner during the awards – as she picked up best actress, but she also won on the red carpet.

The actress, who plays Bethany Platt, looked amazing dressed in a red trouser suit and with her blonde hair piled atop her head.

Jennifer, who plays Mercedes McQueen on Hollyoaks, looked incredible as she took to red carpet in a flattering black ensemble, after welcoming her first child in July of this year.

Her co-star Gemma Merna, who plays her sister Carmel, turned heads wearing a black and sheer dress for the occassion.

While Corrie actress Tina O'Brien, best known for playing Sarah Platt, pulled out all the stops in a black mini dress and sky high heels.

Tonight Emmerdale was named the best soap for the third year running.

The ITV soap dominated the evening scooping eight awards, while nearest runner-up Coronation Street took home a respectable five awards at the awards show held at London's Hippodrome Casino tonight.

Emmerdale's Danny Miller won the best actor gong while his co-stars Dominic Brunt and Gillian Kearney won the awards for funniest male and best bad girl.

Lucy Fallon won the best actress award after her long-running storyline showing Bethany Platt's horrendous grooming and sex gang ordeal, while Julia Goulding took home the best newcomer prize.

EastEnders also has reason to celebrate with Walford-cum-Strictly star Davood Ghadami (Kush Kazemi) picking up the Sexiest Male prize for the show, while Albert Square original Gillian Taylforth accepted an Outstanding Achievement Award for her years as Kathy Beale.

Doctors meanwhile took home its first-ever Inside Soap Award as Lorna Laidlaw secures the prize for Best Daytime Star for her role as Mrs Tembe.
