Fill in the blank: The best name for a soap opera about the Cleveland Browns would be... - cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio-- The joke has been made countless times over the years.

"The Browns are so bad, they could lose even on their bye week."

In seasons past, that line fell flat as the Browns used their bye week to rest and prepare for games ahead.

This season, however, the team might have proven the jokers to be right.

Details are below but with all the drama surrounding this team, it's fair to say the happenings in Berea mirror that of a soap opera, which begs the question: If you had to come up with the title for the soap opera that has been the Cleveland Browns since 1999, what would it be called?

After falling to 0-8 in a loss to the Vikings in London on Sunday, the Browns returned to Cleveland looking forward to a week away from the losing. Instead, they found themselves in the middle of more tremendous drama.

The night before the trade deadline, on Oct. 30, the San Francisco 49ers acquired former Patriots backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo -- a big off-season target for the Browns -- for a mere second-round pick.

The move threw fans up in arms, as the price for Garoppolo seemed quite low, especially for a team with five picks in the top two rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft.

With Garoppolo out of play and the trade deadline less than 24 hours away, the Browns then went searching for another quarterback on Halloween.

They seemingly found one in Cincinnati Bengals backup AJ McCarron, who has ties to head coach Hue Jackson.

With minutes to go before the 4 p.m. deadline on Oct. 31, the Browns had reportedly agreed to send a second-round pick and a third-round pick in the 2018 Draft to the Bengals for McCarron.

(Remember, Garoppolo was acquired for only one second round pick.)

Unfortunately for the Browns, however, paperwork was bungled and the trade was not submitted to the league in time, meaning the Browns were left with three quarterbacks without an NFL win between them on the roster.

The reports and the stories regarding the botched trade are endless.

Nevertheless, a back-and-forth blame game between the Bengals and Browns ensued until cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot put things together Wednesday morning.

Unfortunately for the Browns, it looks as though they are as at fault as anyone in the deal.

Finally, if all that drama wasn't enough, former Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon is in New York City today and is reportedly set to meet with Commissioner Roger Goodell regarding the former Pro Bowl wideout's reinstatement into the league.

This drama follows drama regarding veteran Kenny Britt, who was sent home from the team's trip to Houston, and rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer, who was reportedly out until 2 a.m. two nights before Cleveland's game against the Tennessee Titans.

Here's our question: If you had to come up with the title for the soap opera that has been the Cleveland Browns since 1999, what would it be called? We'll feature the best names we receive.
