An attempt to make off with multiple packages of bar soap from the Absecon ShopRite ended poorly for two Atlantic City men.
At 10:20 a.m. on Friday, Lenny and Kenny Stewart, both 48, stole numerous packages of bar soap from the Absecon ShopRite's front entrance display shelf, according to a news release.
The pair weren't as slippery as their stolen goods though. They ran right in to an Absecon police patrol unit that was in the parking lot at the time.
Lenny Stewart was taken into custody without incident. Kenny Stewart continued to run, but was arrested a short time later.
Both men were charged with shoplifting and send to Atlantic County jail on $2,500 bail.
